Rock And Roll Ruby was originally recorded by American singer Warren Smith after coming to the notice of Sun records owner, Sam Phillips. Phillips credited singer Johnny Cash as the composer, although Warren Smith later claimed it was Country singer George Jones who wrote the tune. This version by Rockabilly supremo Brian Setzer was featured on Setzer's 2005 album, Rockabilly Riot - A Tribute to Sun Records.
